Short Description
Elizabeth Wirt - portrait artistLibby's main work involves commissioned portraits and she finds the purity and vibrancy of soft pastels the perfect medium for her style of portraiture. She studied portraiture with Barbara McManus at The Victorian Artists' Society for 3 years and has attended many courses and workshops, including Peter Smales (oils) and botanical illustration with Su Pearson (water colour).
In 2004 she won Runner-up Best in Show at the Pastel Society of Victoria Annual Exhibition. Her works are held in collections throughout Australia and overseas.
Memberships include The Victorian Artists' Society, The Australian Guild of Realist Artists' and The Pastel Society of Victoria of which she is a past Vice President, Membership Secretary and Newsletter Editor-Publisher. Libby has been a Committee Member since 2000 and in 2006 she was made an Honorary Life Member of the Pastel Society of Victoria.
